Managing Sales Director - India

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Sales Director to lead and expand our business operations across India and the Middle East. This role is crucial for executing our regional growth strategy, building and managing a high-performing local sales team, and achieving revenue targets. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with deep knowledge of the market and a proven track record in technology or enterprise solutions sales.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the India and the Middle East market to meet and exceed company revenue goals and KPIs.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Business Development: Drive new business acquisition by identifying, qualifying, and closing strategic accounts within key industry verticals.
  • Market Penetration: Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting to the leadership team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the regional and global marketing, product, R&D, Operations and Finance teams to ensure alignment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 - 15 years of progressive experience in B2B/Enterprise sales, with at least 3-5 years in a sales leadership/management role within the Indian market. Having Middle East experience is a plus. 
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the business landscape and cultural nuances.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English; proficiency in local languages is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales technology tools.
