How long have you been at the company?

Around 6 years.

What did you study?

I studied computer science and mathematics at Kuban State University

What was your career path before coming to Bright Data?

I started my career in 2006 in the classic ‘developer’s way’ – working at a mobile app company. Then I was a teacher at a university but I realized it wasn’t for me and went back to developing (at an ad-tech company), and finally, I joined Bright Data in 2016.

Tell us about your time at Bright Data

I started at Bright Data 6 years ago, and I think I have ‘touched’ every piece of code that has ever been written at the company ever since. I started in a junior position for around 6 months and eventually, I moved to more interesting stuff. I worked on new products, the internal network, and communications and it was very exciting. I was also promoted to be a team leader in 2020. Over my 6 years at the company, I really have been challenged, and have learned a huge amount.

What's your management style?

I try to create a calm atmosphere for my team as I think this is how they perform at their best. I would prefer them to work a little slower but at an excellent level with very few mistakes. And I also always try to be available for questions and support.

Advice for someone wanting to get into R&D?

It’s a very challenging profession and it’s extremely interesting. It’s never boring, but it’s not for everyone so you really need to know if you have a passion for it.

Favorite part of your job?

Being able to dive deep into the complicated stuff and succeed to find solutions that nobody else was able to before me.

Favorite part of your job

What's kept you at Bright Data for 6 years?

I love my job and I find it very interesting and rewarding. I think that if you’re not happy at your job or not interested in whatever it is that you do, it can destroy you – and then you poison your family too. The company also enabled me to relocate to Israel from Russia (I believe I was the first person they did this for), which is something I wanted to try.
